People often ask Beth how she got started in the world of interior design; her answer is that interior design chose her. Beth demonstrated a keen eye for space and colour from a young age, and her participation in her family’s home renovation projects led to a first job as a design assistant in her hometown of Montreal when she was just 18 years old.

Her passion for design inspired Beth to pursue a master’s degree in Art History with a focus on architecture at the University of Toronto. Just before graduation, she started working for the British luxury paint and wallpaper manufacturer Farrow & Ball, and soon became their senior colour consultant in Canada. In this role, Beth successfully launched the company's in-home colour consultancy service and spoke regularly to industry professionals and public audiences about the relationship between design and colour. It was during this time that Beth’s aspiration to open her own design firm took shape.

Beth opened her first design consultancy business in 2010, focusing on residential design and colour specification. Right from the get-go, the firm managed a wide range of projects, from decorating to complicated remodels and renovations. While creating bespoke spaces for her clients, Beth discovered many amazing products – both locally-sourced and from other global design capitals. After 6 successful years focusing solely on design, Beth expanded her business to include a retail component so that she could share these exciting finds with other designers and design-lovers. Today, Beth and her team at Four Blocks South are working on a wide range of projects, helping clients to create spaces they love.
