Historic Rosedale Full-Home Renovation

This full-home renovation in Toronto’s historic Rosedale neighbourhood was designed for a couple who wanted a feminine, comfortable home for relaxed evenings and intimate gatherings with close friends. Four Blocks South reworked the interior floor plan, designed the renovation and selected furnishings throughout the residence.

The main floor was thoughtfully reconfigured while respecting the architectural character of the original house. A three-sided fireplace became the centre of the new layout, creating a warm visual connection between the kitchen, living room and an intimate conversation nook. The kitchen remains a defined room but is now easily accessible from the adjoining entertaining spaces and offers a clear view toward the backyard. Relocating the powder room from the front entrance allowed the foyer to become more spacious and welcoming. A custom upholstered bench provides a comfortable place to sit, while durable brick flooring was selected to accommodate the clients’ dogs and the demands of everyday life.
